Terms and Conditions

  1. Submissions may be of photographs, videos, audio recordings, drawings, written text, or any other relevant medium. Please include a title, caption and short description of your submission and its link to the West Highland Way.  If possible, please also state the location. 

  2. Any material submitted must be owned by you, the participant.  Permission must have been given by all individuals or guardians of the individuals who appear in the photos or other materials for their image to be used.  Please include in the body of your email the name(s) of any individuals as you would want them to be credited in any promotional material. 

  3. Submissions cannot be made via social media because of file size limitations. YouTube or other video links are acceptable.

  4. The closing date for submissions for the 45th anniversary is midnight on 22nd September 2025.

  5. There is no obligation on the part of the West Highland Way Trust or Management Group to select or use your submission of any element of it as part of the exhibition, films, marketing or any other promotional materials. 

  6. All material submitted will be reviewed by the West Highland Way team and will not be returned. 

  7. The material may be selected to form part of the West Highland Way online exhibition (2025 update) or other marketing materials for the West Highland Way.  We may need to contact you again to ask for more information or larger file sizes of your submission. 

  8. By submitting your entry, you give the West Highland Way Trust or Management Group permission to publish the material in print and online for the purposes of promoting the West Highland Way – this in no way infringes your copyright. 

PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS

  1. The West Highland Way Trust and Management Group will process the personal details of individual participants (and anyone depicted in the photographs, videos or other material) only for the purpose of curating the 2025 update to the virtual exhibition displayed on www.westhighlandwaytrust.org) and creating associated marketing materials, including posting materials on its main website (www.westhighlandway.org) and social media. The personal data of all participants will be processed securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR’s.  If you have any questions about the processing of your personal data, please email us at whw@lochlomond-trossachs.org.   2. By submitting material to the West Highland Way Trust and Management Group, participants consent to the use of their name and image and entry (including the photographs) in marketing or publicity material related to the West Highland Way without remuneration.
